Now on the CBn main page...
Hello! More fresh news about another Tuscan location: the Tower of Talamonaccio (it's a medieval / Renaissance tower in the Gulf of Talamone, in Grosseto)!! It looks like a very impressive building, in a wonderful landscape, just above the sea. According to this article, rumours say that Bond and Camille would arrive at the tower in a yacht, to meet Mathis. Filming is supposed to take place there during the first fortnight of July (i.e. considerably later than the other filming planned in Northern Italy, in April-May). Ooh very cool. It may perhaps be worth having this split into a separate thread so as not to get this mixed up with all the stuff about the car chase. Looks like a very attractive location for sure. I wonder where it may fit into the story.

Looks like Bond will come back to Italy after South America, if this rumour about him and Camille proves to be true (but there's still a big "if").
About a new thread for this: maybe you're true, I'll see to that. ![]() The Mercurius Affair: A James Bond novella - A tribute to Ian Fleming's creation

I wonder whether they may be using Italy to double for somewhere else here. Perhaps with a few palm trees, they could make it resemble Haiti... Although the architecture wouldn't seem to fit with that location.

I originally posted these news in my other thread "Details about the chase in Siena?", but as this newly mentioned Italian location doesn't seem to be linked with the chase according to the rumours, maybe it's better to create another thread about this one?

I just created a new thread about this Tower of Talamonaccio location, following Vauxhall's advice, so you're all invited to continue this conversation over there

As I mentioned in the other thread, this is all very interesting. Perhaps coastal Italy could be doubling for somewhere else though? Just a thought anyway.
Note: Would it be possible for a moderator to perhaps to merge the posts about this from the other thread into here? |

About coastal Italy doubling for somewhere else, that's a possibility, but I doubt it would be doubling for a South American place, as the tower has a quite identifiable medieval/Renaissance look, that doesn't fit with the kind of buildings there, I think.

Yeah, I think I agree that it looks a bit too European to double for anywhere too exotic! Having said that, I've just had a quick search for some information about the Torre di Talamonaccio and apparently it is an historic Spanish-type fortress. Therefore maybe it wouldn't be too out of place as a Caribbean or Central American colonial outpost. |

I found some more interesting pics:
![]() ![]() ![]() With such an appealing cliff, I can't see how there could not be some action there! It still looks too medieval for me to be doubling for an hispanic American building. ![]() The Mercurius Affair: A James Bond novella - A tribute to Ian Fleming's creation
