It's interesting that the title is missing (well not quite - it's in the small print at the bottom). Clearly the main point they want to make is that Bond will be back in November, and, for those who remember the last one, it's clearly linked to the end of Casino Royale.

"The man who is only a silhouette"... Oh, I like that. Ditto. Nice, clever touch. (if they meant it...) Well, I'm feeling generous. Ominous, threatening, and confident enough not to have to show too much (had this happened with the previous film I expect that it would have been "because he's too ugly" and doubtless some pinhead will chime in to that effect). They must be certain that they created a sufficiently iconic image already - albeit I recognise that it does have "007" stamped at the bottom. No Country for Blond Men. I think it's jolly super. ![]() ![]() "There was a violent cruelty, a pathological desire to wound, quite near the surface in the man." I'm not really blown away by it, but I wasn't expecting a lot. The Casino Royale teaser was far better, but there is a certain amount of simplicity and all to this one that makes it work. I guess I was hoping for something a little more fresh. I feel like I've seen this before.

Why on earth would you not put the logo/title on it if it's already been announced?
Good thing I'm not into marketing, I guess. This post has been edited by JackWade: 7 February 2008 - 08:22 ![]() ![]() "Jack Wade, CIA." Bond's American contact 1995-1997 |

I feel a poll coming on, and not just because I'm excited.

Why on earth would you not put the logo/title on it if it's already been announced? Good thing I'm not into marketing, I guess. Because it's just a teaser. This poster serves to really only alert the general masses to the fact that a sequel to Casino Royale is in the works and will be released in November 2008. Anyone who has seen Casino Royale should be able to recognize the silhouette since it was the moment where he says "Bond, James Bond". ![]() ![]() |

Most unexpected to see this so soon. I like it though.
Dare I speculate that if we're getting a poster this early, is a teaser trailer right around the corner? Sony/Columbia has the suspense/thriller VANTAGE POINT out on Feb. 22. Hmm! |

Looks like a serial slasher movie to me.
Perhaps it's not only a subtle reference to Bond as the man who is only a silhouette. But also Bond as an out of control nutter as per the start of The Man With The Golden Gun (Fleming, not Moore, version). |

I love it. Extremely classy and extremely ominous. I glad they kept the name off too. Simply seeing "007" there on it's own packs a huge punch, and judging by how early this poster was released, I'd say there'd be a second teaser poster where they can include the name.

Looks like a serial slasher movie to me. Odd that; there is something of the "Leatherface dancing around with the chainsaw" to it. Although if anyone calls Mr Craig "Leatherface", I'm sure there are some around here who would administer a very firmly smacked botty. ![]() ![]() "There was a violent cruelty, a pathological desire to wound, quite near the surface in the man."
