Now on the CBn main page...
He is a well-known actor in Spain and he will be in Quantum of Solace. He was in Scott´s 1492, and had worked with Almodóvar or José Luis Garci. The news is confirmed here: http://blogs.periodistadigital.com/deaquel...james_bond_0987 It does not say a thing about the role... |

Thanks for posting this. Perhaps some sort of henchman role I guess...
Just had a quick look for other reports on this, and they say that the production has now moved to Panama. |

I'll translate the report made by his agency:
Spanish actor and directo Fernando Guillén Cuervo will join Quantum of Solace cast, the new and long awaited film of the James Bond franchise. This new chapter of the secret agent's adventures, starring once again Daniel Craig, is currently filming on Panama. Fernando Guillen Cuervo, who has been on films such as 'Airbag', 'Los novios búlgaros' or behind the cameras directing 'Los Managers', will fly on a few weeks to Panama and London to join this super-production. An image ![]() I think he's a great actor, I've seen him on comedy films such as 'Airbag' or 'Año Mariano' or the comedy series for TV 'Javier ya no vive solo'. He comes from a family devoted to the world of acting as both parents were actors (well, his mom is still acting on TV series) and his sister Cayetana is a very famous director and TV host in Spain. I really find interesting to see him on such a big film like 'Quantum of Solace'. Fernando, keep the Spanish end up! This post has been edited by _Ozu_: 31 January 2008 - 23:01 ![]() << 007 SPAIN >>

He doesn't really look like a villain. Maybe he's one of Bond's allies in South America?

He doesn't really look like a villain. Maybe he's one of Bond's allies in South America? Yes, he could be a Mathis/Leiter type figure helping Bond in Panama or South America. But then again we've got Mathis and Leiter already in the movie, so he could be a henchman of General Medrano. Hell maybe he's the new Q, who knows! |

Based on the other pics I've seen, it's hard for me to even guess whether he'll be a friend or foe. Capable of rather different looks...
