New Bond title strikes up bedazzlement, hatred, and gross exaggerations in the press

to realise that eternal fate has turned its back on him.

It’s 2 a.m.

Excellent article, Mr. Asterix. thumbup.gif

I'm also irritated how the press is citing fan confusion, upset, etc. when it is clearly not the case, as reflected in the CBn poll, and other fansite polls.

They media loves to lie, don't they?

Yes good article. Its hardly the first time a mainstream film has had a 'different' kind of title. The Silence of the Lambs was a good example, and this summer's hit Ratatouille was a title that was probably unpronouncable to most (they even had to phonetically spell it out on the ads and posters). And while we're at it, what the hell is a "Bourne Supremacy" anyway?

Good article. Since watching the press conference, hearing what Craig had to say about the title, & reading more about the plot details, it sounds like the title works perfectly. So my original assessment of "it will grow on me" is very accurate. In the grand scheme to casual Bond fans, they will still refer to the movie as "the new James Bond flick..."

On that note, this article is particularly awful/hilarious, as it goes on about how unpopular the title is, only for the poll at the end to reveal the most popular response to the title is "Awesome" biggrin.gif

I think what we're seeing here is the media trying to find Bond controversy wherever they can. The CR "controversy" got a lot of web hits, so they're going to see what they can dredge up this time round; they know Craig is untouchable, so they've got to try another angle. Doesn't look like its working too well.

Haha, nicely said. Check out this loser of a film critic (1:25 into the clip) who clearly doesn't do any research nor does he have much of a grasp of English:

These morons need slapping...with a dictionary...and a copy of Fleming's short stories.

"Impatiently Bond lit a cigarette, pulled his shoulders out of their slouch and slammed the mawkish memories back into their long-closed file. Today he was a grown up, a man with years of dirty, dangerous memories - a spy."

There is no confusion to me, and if people who don't understand the meaning of the title, just read the short story, they would clearly understand what is a quantum of solace. smile.gif
