I had turned 15 a few weeks before LALD premiered in the U.S. That's an age where you still have a lot to learn but look at things a lot differently than you had previously. Plus, as a big Bond fan, I really wondered if there would be a Bond after Diamonds Are Forever and Connery's last departure (from Eon, anyway). LALD is not an ideal Bond movie (if only for Kananga's demise) but I have very fond memories about the movie, regardless. |
