I wonder why the illustration of the lady has changed slightly from that used on the Casino Royale book cover?

Not sure myself. I do like this new version though with the small changes.

Could be that the ones one Gilette's site are just early drafts and that the finished ones are yet to be revealed.

~Mr. Stromberg is a very busy man. Blame Daniel Craig for it.~

Yes, I think this might be the case. I remember tis same thing happened with the Richie Fahey covers. We got our first look at them on his website. But when the books came out, there were some changes.

Ah, didn't think of that.

I remember thinking the original version of the On Her Majesty's Secret Service cover posted a Fahey's site was even better than the final result.

Looking at it closely, there's a lot of about this cover that is different. Almost everything in fact. Her face is a completely new face. The colors are all different. Type is different. Fleming name is in a new place. Really, her posture is the only thing that's the same. It's a big change.

You're absolutely right, zencat!

I prefer the face on Gilette's site by far, but could go either way with the rest of the details...

But today is the thirteenth...

I agree. I think the face on Gilette's site is much better. I do like the playing card references that have been added to the stamps illustration though. I wonder which version will appear on the final book jacket artwork.
