British actress cast as "Fields" in "a nice-sized role"

ComingSoon.net and The Hollywood Reporter have received confirmation from EON and Danjaq over the previously rumoured news that Gemma Arterton would appear in BOND 22. Her character has been named only as "Fields", but a representative from Danjaq has commented that it is a "nice sized role".

Fields? Gosh, I even like more the name Jinx. Or it has to be a very good reason for it.

Just based off the name, I think she'll work for MI6 in some fashion. Probably a "Nicky Parsons" character who'll provide support back from the HQ or in the field.

i.e., what Moneypenny should have evolved into.

Just so long as her second name isn’t Green.
No relation to Amalric’s character, please.

A non-entity name like that reeks of "minor MI6 staff member"

I'm really loving the names we're getting so far. Fields. I like it. It's unique (especially if it's a first name) without being self-conscience or silly. It's just this side of real. I can already smell Bondian sophistication in this script.

First of all they thought she was a bit too green for the job.
However, they soon discovered she was a plant.
