RIP to the author of one of the 2 best Bond films of the 1980s. Too bad he never got to work on the script of another Bond film.

I am sorry to hear of his passing. Mr. Fraser was a fabulous writer. I own every one of the Flashman novels and believe I shall read a few in his memory next.

I'm not too familiar with his work other than Octopussy, but this is nonetheless sad news. I send my condolences to his family and friends.

RIP

Sad to hear this - I've enjoyed his books since my teens. I've long thought he'd have made a splendid Bond continuation novelist. Alas, it was never to be. The Flashman novels are must-reads: brilliantly researched, very funny, marvellous adventures.

The light's off at Signpost. My condolences.

Having read Flashman relatively recently, I subscribe to his quality as an entertainer.

Having read his initial Octopussy draft, I subscribe to usefulness of Richard Maibaum & Michael G Wilson.

I highly recommend GMF's memoir wherein he recalls his adventures in the screentrade vividly (Musketeers, Superman et al). He seemed recall working with Cubby very fondly and he devotes the best part of a chapter to Octopussy including an idea for a PTS action sequence never used - a chase incorporating the Isle of Man TT motorbike race.

CBn's GMF-esque Jacques Stewart wrote a lovely article on the book here http://commanderbond.net/article/2440

RIP.

Octopussy is one of the defining Moore films, IMO.
