Empire Magazine lands its second 007 casting scoop?

22 year old British actress said to have won auditions; doubts remain

Which about says it all.

A small piece as I was flicking through, in one of the society pages.

Said she is in the new St Trinians film.

The Daily Mail once stated Rose Byrne had gotten the part of Vesper Lynd.

Just sayin'.

The Sun are saying it too

The Sun and the Mail had the casting of Craig first.

Out of tabloid stuff this has the ring of truth.

Hmm maybe there is something to it then. But wasn't it stated a while back that EON were looking at Brazilian actresses? If this casting does turn out to be true, I'm assuming its not THE main Bond girl, but rather a Solange/Paris Carver secondary role.

Or the other way round, we don’t know for certain that the Latin actress that they are looking for is the main girl either. They do seem to be looking at a lot of soap opera actresses or models with limited acting experience. That could be for the smaller role.

As I say, we don’t know.

There was talk of there being 4 Bond girls in this one.

With the Rose Byrne thing, it seems that they did have some inside info as far as she being cast as Vesper is concerned, I think she was on the short, short list. But they jumped the gun as far as her actually being cast goes.

But they clearly just didn’t make it up (as can be the tabloid way) they did base it on inside info. They just went with a tip off that hadn’t been finalized.

Perhaps that is the case here.

The Sun went with the "Craig will be Bond" story back in April of 2005, it wasn’t a done deal then, but clearly they had very credible inside info, they jumped the gun, but in that case they were right in the end.

Well if the Sun say it I'm inclined to believe it more than if it were just the Mail. They do have a lot of guff, but they do run a few bits which are true, unlike the Mail.
She looks very nice. Very young, though.

It is surely no coincidence that ST TRINIAN'S is about to be released in UK cinemas...

Not sure about this one. She looks incredibly young and not all that mature. Eva Green has a dignity and maturity about her. This one looks somewhat wrong, but then we don't know what the part is or what it requires...

Keep the salt on stand-by methinks...

Here's the Daily Mail story
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/arti...n_author_id=230

It's the third item in the column. Seems to me like it's either legit or the folks promoting the "St Trinian's" movie pushing this.

She looks very pretty, but not in the old school Bond way (to quote Lewis Gilbert - the girls have to be gorgeous...and be able to act a bit).
I could easily see this Gemma girl as the new Bond girl for 22, after Vesper Lynd i'm assuming the new female lead will not be as strong, more a damsel in distress type role, similar to Solitaire in LALD (book).

It’s very curious that competing “newspapers” have the same...

This is either a deliberate leak on Eon’s behalf keeping Bond in the headlines or it’s her PR people/ PR people working on the St Trinian's film planting a story.

Well, quite.

"I wonder if she has a new film out?"

Still, this sort of stuff does show that one can still publicise one's film by reference to the Bond series; for a forty-five year old franchise, that's pretty good going.

It may yet prove true, but the cynical old pooh-ears in me (i.e. all of me) notes that uncanny coincidence.

And anyone who is alleged in the paper to have announced to the world the part is theirs tends not to be on Eon's list at all. I seem to remember Sharon Stone was Elektra King, Whitney Houston was Wai Lin and Gerard Bulter
