On the basis that Gustav Graves based his persona on James Bond, from what I remember of the "script" of DUD, then this appears to be sensible casting. I do think he'd make a good Flemingy Bond anyway. ![]() ![]() "There was a violent cruelty, a pathological desire to wound, quite near the surface in the man." Oh, this sounds excellent. Can't wait to hear it.
Toby Stephens is perfect casting for Bond. He's a good radio actor too. I heard him in the BBC apaptation of Alistair MacLean's THE GUNS OF NAVARONE a few years back and was duly impressed. |

I feel a:
www.stevensnotbond.com Joke coming along tbh. Stevens is a good actor (His talents were wasted in Die Another Day), I really like his British accent too, glad to see the voice of Bond been true to the nationality. ![]() "You're so blinded by inconsolable rage, that you dont care who you hurt!" This should be good. And a treat to open the paper and find not one but two Bond related articles on the same day.
Why Dr No though? I'm sure it'll be enjoyable but a faithful radio production of You Only Live Twice could have been amazing. Missed opportunity? Probably because it's the first official Bond film.

Love the way Eon have insisted "only if it's done right", when they've been cocking "it" up on and off for years!!!

True, but then Dr.No relates to events in From Russia with Love!!! Also; there was a very good Radio 4 version of You Only Live Twice done some years ago with Maichael Jayston as Bond. Wish I'd kept my recording of it, as it'll probably never see the light of day again due to copyright issues. |
