Just reciveved my fourth issue of Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and is wonderful as always.
It has got wondeful articles on Double Or Die and Hurricane Gold, and a good coverage on Sebastian Faulks. Also great coverage on the CR premiere. Good wook to all contributing writers. Can't wait for issue five. Well done. Keep the good work up Gri007 ![]() |

Always good to see the envelope containing the mag in the mailbox.
This one if a filler edition. The sort of time killing read between big events. Which is fine. If it wasn't for the fact there has been such a long wait since KKBB 3... That said, the essentials ARE brought up to date - reviews of the latest books, including DOD, together with a nice dateline of the news to press about Bond 22. And, of course, the premiere stuff is suffiently thorough and entertaining to make it a "warm glow" read in future years. And there is a classic editorial "bigging up" of James Bond. Which should bring a swell of pride to any James Bond fan. Though the editor - significantly perhaps for he is a political animal - fails to question where the Brocolli clan might have been had it not been for Bond. But the KKBBs are a must read. I recommend them to all CBNers. |

Best issue yet - recalling the halcyon days of the JBIFC (JBBFC) during the eighties for its sheer enthusiasm - also superbly well written, designed and printed publication. Well done to all involved.

I loved this issue.
Not sure if it's just me, but one can't get enough of the Casino Royale premiere details and pictures (lots that we haven't seen before). The other major highlight for me was the discussion with Higson, Arnold, and Kleinman--something that went a bit unnoticed at the time naturally due to the Casino Royale release bonanza, but is given the full treatment in this issue. I love hearing about how Kleinman and Arnold actually work together for Bond, since the general DVD extras focus on them seperately. ![]() |

The fourth is…
Yes, considerably. Issue 4 of the ‘James Bond Journal’ KISS KISS BANG BANG is a slick, authoritative, lovingly assembled, entertaining, enthusiastic paean to all that is James Bond now. Like the previous issues, I suspect it will be an invaluable reference in years to come: when we’re all arguing about early Bond 22 rumours and chud.com no longer exists, someone will be able to point here. Matthew Field's interview with Kleinman, Arnold and Higson is the highlight, but there’s comprehensive coverage of Faulks’ appointment, the premiere of CR and other events and all the latest Bond books (your advice seems to have been taken there, David, as they are generally more critical, and for the better, I think – I laughed aloud at the review of the science book). The proof-reading and design layout have both improved, although I think the latter is still occasionally a little messy. But all in all, an excellent read. I highly recommend it to all Bond fans. ![]() Author of the Cold War spy thriller FREE AGENT THE DARK AGE BEGINS MAY 5 2009 |

In the interests of disclosure, I wrote two of the reviews in the book review section. (MFJ is also a PR.) But I feel I can criticise the parts I wasn't involved with!!!
This issue is most definitely the best one yet. The last issue was a big leap from it's predecessors, and this one is an even further leap. At 48 pages long, it's a packed (stocked?) issue. The layout, the variety pictorial content, the reproduction of them, the variety of articles (news, reviews, interviews..)...all much improved. Every issue seems to have a major highlight, and this issue's is the Matthew Field interview at the back. I concur with those who also said it's a great collectible and a valuable document of the last two years of Bondom!! Well done Ajay and the team. Especially the guy who wrote those 2 book reviews. Having received my copy, I'm pleased to report that this is the best issue yet. As has been mentioned, Matthew Field's piece on Arnold, Higson and Kleinman is terrific, but the mag drips knowledge and passion throughout as it touches parts that online Bond fandom alone could never hope to reach. Very nicely designed, as well.
The folks behind this are obviously aiming to produce work that will stand the test of time, and things are shaping up nicely. |
