Read this in the swedish newspaper Aftonbladet today. The article say that Rafael Edholm will make a screentest for Bond 22 as a bad guy.

Rafael kan bli ny Bondskurk

The headline says Rafael could be the new Bond bad guy. Will make a screentest in Hollywood.

True or not, I could definitely see Edholm as a Pied Noir. He has an interesting face which could work well for a villain or henchman.

Yeah why not, he looks pretty good. Though the first few people we hear about usually don't make it, I'm sure there are many others auditioning. It seems if this is the actor type they're looking at, its looking like a 'Bond's equal' style of villain like 006 or Grant

The pix I pulled up of him, all located in Google's image gallery, make him appear Latino. When I heard a "Swedish" actor, I thought we might be getting a blonde, blue-eyed, white actor. Interesting that they're screen testing a Swede to play what will probably be a Latino role.

Yeah, I thought this news seemed familiar!

I'd have no complaints with this Rafael Edholm character being the villain (or, at least, one of the villains), although I'm yet to see any of his work.

Hmmm. Yeah, I can see him as a Bond villain. But am I alone in wanting someone a bit older, like a Goldfinger or Dr. No? Someone with a really unique face with lots of character, and a less generic body-type?

Edholm could be a good "No. 2" to such a characters "No. 1" in The Organization.

Numbers 4 and 5 were Mr and Mrs Du Pont, rich-looking and might or might not have some of the real Du Pont money behind them. Bond guessed they would be stayers. They both had a business-like look about them and were talking together easily and cheerfully as if they felt very much at home at the big game. Bond was quite happy to have them next to him...

Looks very Bondian. Perhaps there is some truth to the Goran rumors.

I'm sure there will be a lot more rumours coming soon about the villian. Rafael looks like good potential though. Not sure if I see him as a main villian.

Perfectly possible, but I'd bear in mind that Aftonbladet is a tabloid, and has previously pritned some pretty dubious stories about Bond. For example:

http://www.aftonbladet.se/nojesliv/film/article492189.ab

And perhaps more relevantly:

http://www.aftonbladet.se/nojesliv/film/article252930.ab

Incidentally, Izabella Scorupco is all over the Swedish media right now with her new film, a Swedish-language thriller.
