Sets under construction already? Yes, the excitement is building as it is starting to sink in that we are not far away from shooting. It's great to not have to wait 3 years between drinks.

Sets under construction already? Well, on DAD and TWINE set construction at Pinewood started in late September, that was for a start date in January. Many of them are probably looking quite complete by this stage. All the same, this bit of news confirming that there are Bond 22 sets at Pinewoood, does get me very excited. If the script has only been finished a few days ago.... does this mean they have decided on certain scenes already months in advance?
And these would be present in any final script, even the one that was thrown out??? EDIT: I read this news as "Queen gets Sneak Peek at Bond's Set" at first glance, which is kind of an interesting mental image.... I saw the news item this afternoon. The queen was shown watching a bit of filming, Couple of fellas fighting in a speedboat with SAS types abseiling in the background, all in front of a blue screen.
The report definetly gave the impression that this was a sequence for the next Bond film, but I suppose they may have been mistaken. These are journos afterall and you can't expect them to do stuff like check facts. ![]() Serve on hot buttered toast in individual copper dishes (for appearance only) with pink champagne (Taittinger) and low music.

QUOTE Couple of fellas fighting in a speedboat with SAS types abseiling in the background, all in front of a blue screen. Now THAT'S interesting. Anybody have footage? Screencapture? UPDATE: BBC article states "She also... watched a live feature film stunt involving a high speed boat chase." From that wording, sounds like the stunt in fact wasn't Bond-related. If the script has only been finished a few days ago.... does this mean they have decided on certain scenes already months in advance? And these would be present in any final script, even the one that was thrown out??? Big sequences that involve large set construction are decided upon months before the script is finished. Back when the story was approved, what locations would be needed (for location scouts to work from), who the main characters are going to be (for casting work to begin) and what sets would be needed (so they could be designed and built) was also decided. This is the structure that everyone works from in pre-production whilst the finished screenplay is being written. Design and construction on the Bond films takes months. Its not feasible for someone to only start work when they have a full dialogue script finished. Sometimes that is only ready a few weeks before filming, if then. |

I've got it recorded. But as they said, it was just something that was staged at Pinewood for the Queen. Nothing to do with Bond. |

It did look very Brosnan but I probably just wasn't listening properly. Anyway, good to know that things are underway. ![]() Serve on hot buttered toast in individual copper dishes (for appearance only) with pink champagne (Taittinger) and low music.

I was hoping to turn on BBC News this morning to find somebody had done it. Just to see some muppet say "I just wanted to know what the set looked like" before being hauled off into the back of a waiting police car.
