Charlie revealed a fairly major Young Bond 5 plot element at the Hurricane Gold launch party last month. I am pleased and surprised because this is something I've wanted in the series, but Charlie always seemed to make it clear he was never going to go there. Well, he's going. smile.gif

What is it, you ask? I'm having some fun with this scoop. I'm letting Charlie tell you himself.

Not really that amazing, is it? He said there'd be no sex, but James must be around 14 or 15 by the next one if I'm not wrong, so I don't think it's from out of nowhere that his eye would start to wander.
And what's he saying in the last bit? The sound goes a bit muffled.

Sounds like he saying that the book will feature a new Bond girl that he falls in love with, but also has a previous Bond girl (Wilder Lawless most likely?) he also enjoys spending time with. The dilemma being James not knowing which of the two girls he should be with.

Hmm, interesting. I am looking forward to how Higson approaches this, and how far Bond falls in love - and the result. Heres thinking it will fall apart and it will leave Bond cold.

Yep; seems to be the logical choice.

Yep, I think it's almost a dead certainly that the girl will be the maid. And during the Q&A Charlie strongly hinted that the "girl from his past" will be Amy Goodenough.

Yes, I'd like it to be Amy. She didn't get much to do once James appeared on the scene, but she has good reason to be very fond of him- something she didn't really get the chance to show in BF.

She certainly was Goodenough to be a Bond girl, and I am hoping it is her.

Really? Fantastic news. She remains my favourite of all the Higson Bond girls.
