Is there a new costume designer for Bond 22? From a Brioni spokesperson http://www.dnrnews.com/site/article.php?id=672 The internet Movie Data Base now lists Louise Frogley as well as Lindy Hemming as the Costume designer for Bond 22. I expect Hemming’s name to be removed soon. This post has been edited by [dark]: 25 September 2007 - 14:59 |

A possibility, I suppose.
Its a shame, to an extent, if true because I thought Hemmming really captured Craig Bond with her more casual, and original, clothing departures after the Euro-exec by numbers of Brozza-Bond. |

Louise Frogley's a top-notch costume designer. So, it'll be interesting to see what she comes up with, if this is true.

Not sure I'm all that bothered either way. I guess new stuff is welcome these days, so I'll default to positive for any change from now on.

With all the behind the camera changes, I'm beginning to wonder if Bond 22 will be as great a "changing of the guard" as CR was - that CR may have been transitional from the old way of doing things into something much fresher. A step on the path, and Bond 22 being a jump. Exciting times. Got to wonder if David Arnold is next to go...

I hope Arnold remains. The only questionable decisions are in the airport sequences with that techno. Iron that out and he will be fine.

A step on the path, and Bond 22 being a jump. Exciting times. Indeed. I'm loving that BOND 22 is shaking up so much. Sure, all this change has to be terrifying the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" traditionalists, but for me, who has been aching for some real change for years, this is a welcome breath of fresh air. Now, I loved Lindy Hemming's work on CASINO ROYALE. I thought she captured the spirit of James Bond quite well, walking the line between retro and contemporary and coming up with something undeniably classic. She's the last crew member that I would have wanted to see go. But Louise Frogley isn't unqualified. Judging by her work on OCEAN'S THIRTEEN, she'll be more than able to provide some great looks for 007. Got to wonder if David Arnold is next to go... Let's hope so. I liked his CASINO ROYALE score, but I haven't liked any of his other Bond scores. It would be great to have a new sound to accompany the new look, and I don't think Arnold has the range to really leave his "Bond sound" behind. I vote for Lalo Schifrin. ![]() |

I have this thing with the Arnold scores, Itīs just that if I close my eyes I see Pierce Brosnan walking and thatīs fine if it is one of Pierceīs films. That said, I would love for a new sound to be associated with Daniel. ![]() QUOTE "I shall not waste my days in trying to prolong them. I shall use my time." |

I vote for Lalo Schifrin. Interesting. My first choice would be Ryuichi Sakamoto (MERRY CHRISTMAS MR. LAWRENCE, THE LAST EMPEROR). My second is Joe Hisaishi (HANA-BI). Neither has a snowball's chance in hell of being asked to compose the score for a Bond film, though, so quite why I even bother to mention them I don't know. Still, there was a time when I'd have scoffed at the idea of Paul Haggis writing a Bond film, so I guess ya never know. |

That said, I would love for a new sound to be associated with Daniel. Absolutely my thoughts. Arnold has done his thing, sometimes very well. It's time for someone new - but that someone has to be right. One big negative for CR has, in my opinion, always been the music. Sometimes I actcually think I'm watching TWINE. Those awful melancholy instrumentals just don't fit CR. But that's just me. Hopefully Arnold is next to go. ![]() ![]() |
