Interesting.

Awaiting the first "They've turned Bond into Bourne" post with a heavy heart.

I'm guessing this means it's quite likely Forster will distance him self from action sequences and hand them off to the second unit.

I think this is fantastic news.

I mean, just look at this guy's CV! The man has worked on some quality, action-heavy films - and with the Bournes and the Spider-mans freshly under his belt, seems to be at the peak of his career.

Another coup for Bond 22!

Yes he seems to be a blockbuster action hero kind of guy - Spider-man, Superman, Indy; it's all good.

Thank the Lord. Praise Jesus.

It bring the series out of the Early 70s where it has been languishing for the last 30 years. And yes I am talking about the pretend realism of Casino. It was childs play compared to the Bourne Ultimatum. About as thrilling as a Scoobie Doo cartoon.

All improvements welcome and badly needed.

I have no complains about the fight scenes in CR. At least I could see what was happening and it didn't induce nausea.

And there we go! wink.gif

I think this is good news. Bradley clearly has a superb amount of experience in action movies, and hopefully should bring a solid directoral performance to BOND 22. Will be interesting to discover what the large set pieces delegated to the second unit will comprise of.

I'm quite excited by all the new blood they've picked up these films- the director, 2nd unit director and production designer are all top-notch, plus of course we've already had an amazing new star and scriptwriter from the last one return; should be a cracker.

The 2nd unit director on CR was from the first Bourne movie, the new one is from Bourne 2 & 3... Looks promising !

It does indeed! I thought Alexander Witt's shooting of the Miami airport sequence was particularly excellent.

You're kidding, right?

I thought the Miami Sequence was very weak. Excluding all the dodgy Product Placement stuff (where he had to literally squeeze in brand names in certain shots e.g. theres a shot of JB leaving a airport door, I think its JB walking out although I couldn't see very well cos the huge VIRGIN sign got in my way!!!!).

The truck stunts were actually okay but it bit daft. He could have course just stopped the truck and shot Bond like any intelligent person would have done and Bond leaping off at a 30mph minimum speed was a bit hokey but still.... I know some of you posters like the series to be "a bit daft", (Which may have something to do with the fact that many grew up on Moore tv re runs) but i am hankering after Connery grit without a 60s cheesefest.

If thats at all possible.

News of more humour and more gadgets does not sit well with me. I know some here disagree. And I know some here like to feed their Bond fantasy by buying as much of the corporate crap as possible with me its all about decent films and they still have a long way to go.

Bourne has plenty of guffaw moments. The Motorbike getting up that wall was a definite 'awww c'mon' moment, but they are enjoyed cos you never feel like you'r e being patronized any other time. But with EON....dear me...

On the whole very good news. Its seems they know where to look for quality but have a hard time of truly letting it flourish.

Now can we please get rid of Purvis and Wade? Its time for the 12 year olds who once read 'Five on a Treasure Island" to give up their crayons and give us our Bond back, the morons!
