Interesting stuff. Spain being my favourite country in Europe (I visited Madrid countless times over the past year), I'd be chuffed if this news was true. Why filming would be taking place so early, though, I have no idea.

If true, Bond 22 is taking on an increasingly European focus. What if Bond 22 was something of a chase movie, with 007 on the tail of a lead who's constantly on the move in Europe?

Never been but i heard Madrid is a hole. Barcelona is much more scenic, wonder why they didn't go there. Sienna lacks ocean / sea vistas, so does Madrid and Switzerland. Will this film have a "landlocked" feel to it? I hope not.

Could Madrid be doubling for Italy?! We had a report that they were looking at some ancient-looking Italian locales here :

Maybe Madrid had more of the right feel for what they needed. Its probably just some establishing shots, as nobody has been cast and Paul Haggis is only on page 22 of the script!

True, it doesn't have anything iconic like it's fellow western European capital cities, but it does have a definite charm to it, and I certainly wouldn't describe it as a hole. It has some gorgeous sights - the Palacio Real and El Retiro park immediately spring to mind - while there's some amazing architecture to be seen in the city. The Puerta del Sol and Plaza Mayor are also something to behold. I'd personally love to see it in a Bond film.

Didn't the latest Bourne movie feature Madrid??

Anyway, it sounds really good, and I love the idea of Bond 22 being a chase movie, tracking down various members of The Organisation.

Some nice European locations are involved so far, by the sound of things.

No complaints here. biggrin.gif

Spain can never be over used in the Bond series.I'd love to see Bond attend a Bull Fight...but I'm sure the horse race will be the 'exotic cultural event' of the movie.

I always feel like Bond when I have been at cultural events in places like Thailand, Spain, Greece, Tunisia, The Caribbean and Japan.

I see this is becoming a sort of (europian)country hopping movie.

Or maybe most of this will not involve Bond at all. Even so, it sounds to me, that this might aswell be a terrorist hunt, that'll spread through Europe.

Hmm very interesting that they've been filming in Madrid so early. I wonder if there is a chance of us getting any further information about where exactly they've been filming in the city.

It is notable that an opera house has been mentioned. That is the second time we've heard that, after the opera in Bregenz was reportedly scouted. Perhaps these two locations could be linked.

I haven't heard anything about shooting in Madrid (I can't even find that article you're talking about).

The only thing I heard was on July 25th, that maybe a scene with Daniel Craig could be filmed on Paseo de la Castellana in Madrid, it was told to me by a member of my 007 forums that it was already shooting or about to begin, but I can't even believe it...there should be photos and images on TV about that...

If you give me the article, I can translate it for you (on my...errr...nearly 'not-perfect' English wink.gif

I don't they they'll use madrid's location to dub Italy. Why should they do that?
If you turn around your sight, you can find everything of historical stuff, expecially if you're in Tuscany. Go to Siena, then Arezzo, Firenze, and other places just 30 min far from Siena, and you can find all the architectural buildings you, need.
No there's another reason, if they film in Madrid.
I hope something like Thunderball's Spectre's Lair in Paris....
