Now on the CBn mainpage:
My first instinct was that surely Austria is too cold, I like sun and sand in my Bond movies not ski jackets and braces! However, having read the front page my view is changed it looks fantastic, lots of opportunity for great stunts and aesthetic chases. And perhaps femme fatal ala Billion Dollor Brain style. |

Yes those look like some interesting, Bond-like locations. I'm up for a Wintery Bond adventure, with the most outrageous and badass ski chase ever committed to film. Not that I'm too demanding, or anything. Still, it will contrast nicely with CR, which was pretty sunny throughout if you think about it. Even the Prague scenes looked warm in the daytime.

Roberto Schaefer is the Director of Photography according to this report...did we know that before? Sorry for being a bit unclear with that one. Forget to set a question mark here. Schaefer is Forsters usual director of photography and listed on the imdb for B22. The original report only mentions "director of photography" (which means that the chioce seems to be made). ![]() ![]() ~Mr. Stromberg is a very busy man. If they are indeed planning a ski chase, I hope they use this location to the fullest potential, and create a really dynamic chase...one like we've not had since OHMSS, and maybe even better.

If they are indeed planning a ski chase, I hope they use this location to the fullest potential, and create a really dynamic chase...one like we've not had since OHMSS, and maybe even better. 22 seems to be continuing its dips into the deep creative pool of OHMMS. One astute poster (Princess K or Athena?) pointed out the complementary structures of the two films (CR inverts that of OHMSS). And the endings, of course, share a deep sense of loss. A ski chase rivaling, or topping, Laz's would be another terrific homage. ![]() ![]() |

Cool looking theater. If it’s used, I hope it gets used to its full potential. I thought the Bodyworks museum in CR was a cool idea, but then on film I felt like it was sold a little short.
Regarding the talk of the ski chase… if it’s there, I have a feeling that it will be one for the books. Surely everybody involved in the film knows how significant the ‘ski chase’ is to Bond lore? The man practically invented it. What happened in TWINE I do not know (a limp director and a soggy 2nd unit, from what I understand), but all signs point to this being a new era – one in which every detail is taken seriously, from top to bottom. If they decide Bond is to hit the slopes, I trust it will be done with great respect to the historical Bond, and hopefully with some apology for the more recent Bond. ![]() ![]() |

Since they seem to be (quite properly) going back to Fleming, I wonder whether Hans whatsisname or whatever he was called - Bond's boyhood skiing instructor, whose murder he avenges in OCTOPUSSY - will crop up in the script. Wouldn't exactly chime with the books, of course, but it'd be a nice little nod to them, and apparently THE HILDEBRAND RARITY's Fidele Barbey was a character in P&W's CASINO ROYALE screenplay at one point (!), so....
