I supplied the intell at the request of a member on another thread. Glad it got into our data base. I hope to see some other CBn'ers there. I can't be the only one in Austin!

I wish I could pop down to Austin anytime I wanted but it's a four hour drive one-way.

I just got back from the screening. It helped that I hadn't seen either film in several years which allowed me a fresh perspective.
I enjoyed both films very much. They seemed to be reasonably fresh prints except for a couple of reels of FRWL where the reels looked faded and a reel of DR NO where the soundtrack faded out completely. While FRWL felt more all of a piece than DR NO, I actually thought the dialogue in DR NO was better as some of the dialogue in FRWL was a little flat. Also neither film has aged well but FRWL more than DR NO. Col. Kelb for instance brought out a number of unintentional giggles from the audience throughtout the movie. While Bond telling Quarrle to fetch his shoes was the only cringe worthy part of DR NO. Yet in spite of that, I thought FRWL was very like CR 2006 without the over long fight and actions scenes. I forgot how creepy Shaw was as Red Grant. There is a scene after Bey was killed on the Orient Express, where Bond got off the train to meet one of Bey's sons. Grant follows Bond and at one point, you see Grant's reflection in a window watching Bond. Very scary. I forgot that Eunice Gayson (Sylvia Trench) appeared in both films. She's the first Bond girl! More later, I gotta shred. ![]() You like wild things don't you, Mr. Bond, James Bond?

Thanks for the report. Sounds like a great double feature, I wish they'd do that around here!...
