Now on the CBn main page...

'We have to make the next one, I think, better...'

Craig, 39, said the script had not been finalized for the next Bond film, which does not yet have a title.

The last 007 film was "very successful," Craig said. "We have to make the next one, I think, better than the last one to keep people happy."

So work continues on the script. But it seems P&W are off now doing their own (Barbarella) thing. Which begs the question...

Interesting... who's writing the script?

Yeah it looks like Barbarella is a go, with Robert Rodriguez. Obviously someone's going to step in and polish/finish the script. I'm sure they'll try Paul Haggis first, he may be too busy. But then again he was pretty busy in 2005/6 and got CR done anyway.

I'm starting to wonder if they're really going to make their goal of November 2008. Anyone else feel this way?

No. Haggis didn't deliver his final rewrite of CR until December '05 (shooting started in Jan '06). They have plenty of time to work on the script. Besides, an unfinished (or God awful) script doesn't stop any big movie from being made/released.

And I guess it could still be P&W working on the script. Writers juggle more than one project at a time.

In addition to the points made by Zencat: they'll need to start on time and finish by the end of May. Craig seems to be scheduled to start shooting Flashbacks of a Fool then. He's movin' along like a steamroller now. I wonder if he's moved into Connery mode, slapping them with penalties if they do run over.

Perhaps we can date stamp this comment as the first of the 639 such comments between now and the release date, as to whether they will finish in time.

They Always Start On Time And they Always Finish On Time - is the way to go.

Me neither.

In any event, hopefully Haggis will be contributing once again.

Hah! Yes you're right, although to be fair they have already pushed the release date of 22 back (it was just 18 months after CR originally), so in effect they've failed to make one deadline, but moved it early enough for no-one to notice! biggrin.gif
