It took a while for Silverfin, Bloodfever, and Double or Die to grow on me. I guess it will be the same for Hurricane Gold.

It sounds good, but I would just consider this being a working title.

Sounds really, really, cool, but i do hope they use 'The Deadlock Chipher' for a title sometime.

It sounds good, but I would just consider this being a working title. Like I said in the article, it is possible this is just a working title. Working titles (and rejected artwork) have shown up on Amazon before. I expect we'll hear something official soon enough. But I do like this title a lot. Next to SilverFin, it's my favorite Young Bond title. It feels confident and specific to the book and story. It's not trying to sound Bondian (Double or Die) or just jazzy (Blood Fever). And it avoids falling back on "death", "die", or "kill", which is always good. It also could tell us something about the plot. I would guess "Hurricane Gold" refers to treasure of some kind washed up or uncovered by a hurricane. Seems right for the locations. ![]() |

Sounds okay, but I'm not really blown away. I don't care for Double or Die so it's an improvement regardless

I rather like that too. Hurricane is a great, Bond-y word.

Not a bad title. Will be interesting to see if it is indeed the final one.

Little update: WHSmith also shows a listing for a "Hurricane Gold" Hardcover (£9.99) and Limited Collectors Edition (£16.99). Very curious about this Collectors Edition.

Meh.... it's okay. The Young Bond titles haven't impressed me. I feel they lack a lot of Fleming's panache for titles. But I guess if it makes sense with regards to the plot, then it's okay.

My favorite title remains SilverFin, and I loved how Charlie described it in one interview as it capturing the essence of early Bond as "silver - not quite gold" (not sure of the exact quote). I wish they would have called Book 2 "Double M" (the working title), and after reading Double or Die, I would have suggested "The Hungry Machine."
I wonder if this time Charlie got his first choice/working title in Hurricane Gold? ![]() |

I like it too. It certainly sounds very much like a Clive Cussler title.
