James Bond Encyclopedia
Author: Cork, John
Publisher: DK Publishing
Publish date: Oct 2007
Format: Hardcover, 320 pages

This is the first thing I've heard about this. Has this been officially announced yet? I absolutely adore the books from DK publishing and this sounds terrific. 320 pages dwarfs DK's "James Bond: The Secret World of 007."

It's also on Amazon. I saw it a while back, but no one will give me any information about it (and I know both the authors). I don't understand all the mystery, but I know I'll be getting it. smile.gif

I posted about this a while back, and I think Athena may have talked to John Cork about it. Not sure of the details...

But today is the thirteenth...

Now THIS looks like a serious contender to my copy of James Bond The Legacy.

I have a strange feeling this could be as bland as most of the official EON product. Lots of glossy pics but nothing we don't already know. But I might be wrong.

Agreed. Remember the last DK book only featured Pierce Brosnan's image throughout the book.

When I first read this I thought the Rubin book was being resurrected yet again.

I will wait until it comes out to pass judgement on it. It sounds promising given John Cork's involvement, but I'm wondering if it can offer anything new as far as information on all things Bond, especially considering it's Eon-approved, meaning safe and nothing that isn't above board.

Not to mention the price will likely run around $50 or so. I don't really need to pay that much for yet another reminder that Bond used a rebreather in Thunderball and it can be used for 3 minutes or Jaws was played by 7 foot 2 inch Richard Kiel in The Spy Who Loved Me and Moonraker.

But I'll wait and see. Maybe it will be a pleasant surprise.
