Well done! I jokingly refer to his book as Doublenought's checklist. I would love to see an updated version in english.

This is an EXCELLENT interview. I love listening to someone who is a clearly an expert and clearly passionate about a particular area of Bondom. I'm also a great fan of his book. Even though it's in German, I snapped it up. As he says, there really was nothing like this at the time. I also find it still superior to that newer poster book (which has some weird omissions). Would love to see him do a full update.

Bravo!

(BTW, the link in the interview doesn't go to this thread -- just the general forum page.)

Great interview Devin.

Nixdorf's work is a landmark. I remember how exciting it was for the Bond poster collector community when it debuted.

As Zencat said, it has a number of posters not shown in Nourmond's book.

I know he kept trying for an English publisher, but sadly without luck.

I agree, great interview.

I picked up this book last year from Spyguise and found I enjoyed it a lot more than I did the other book that came out in 2002. It just seemed more complete. This was a case where I didn't care what the text said, the great illustrations told all the story I needed.

I've said it before and I'll say it again -- I always appreciate the interviews with some of the authors or lesser known figures in the Bond world and those who take the time to bring them to us. It's what makes CBn a great place to enjoy Bond. Thanks to the team for bringing these to us. thumbup.gif

Great Interview. I've got to say I prefer older posters myself.

Fantastic interview, Qwerty.

Thomas' book is comprehensive and detailed - he is a longstanding, passionate Bond fan.
I would highly recommend the book (which goes up to and includes Tomorrow Never Dies). If you can speak German, the text is good too with a Robert McGinnis interview at the end.

Perhaps a book more in need of being updated and republished in English than ever before now that the Art of site has been pulled.

Certainly Nourmand's book was a travesty of missed opportunities. Quite lazy in fact (if there weren't other reasons for omission after omission).

Thanks for the comments. This interview was easily one of the most enjoyable articles I've done for CBn simply because Thomas Nixdorf was so open to the idea and is clearly very passionate about the subject. Many thanks!

Credit also to Mr. Asterix once again for his always excellent graphics. thumbup.gif

Great job, Devin. And a big Thanks to Thomas for sharing so many great information.

As to the book: Really love it. A must have for every Bond fan. And I can tell from my own experience that it's even better when you understand German biggrin.gif

~Mr. Stromberg is a very busy man. Blame Daniel Craig for it.~

An amazing number of images in that issue - across all Bond eras.

While the OHMSS stuff was of course my favorite - the unused "Bondbuster" SWLM art totally "busted" my mind.

A must see.
