I can imagine Casino Royale being released on the BluRay format at an earlier date because it's impossible to copy (for now), but not on DVD. ![]() |

Didn't they say that HD-DVD would be impossible to crack aswell? Well somebody broke that and its just a matter of time before someone cracks Blu-Ray.

Actually their not the first to get CR on DVD. The russian R5 DVD has been out since early December and has already been ripped and made it's rounds on the various p2p, torrents, etc.

I gotta admit I always wanted to get Edgar Allan Poe in a headlock. That thing is like a pumpkin! Oh yeah, the pain. It's not so bad. I hacked up some blood a couple of minutes ago and there was this pink chunk about the size of, uh... one of those little kiwifruit, but I don't feel anything missing, so I'm not too worried. |

Some hacker said he did it a month or so ago and it was "officially" acknowledged maybe last week that someone did it. I think it was AACS doing damage control - putting the blame on someone else. ![]() ![]() |

Got my region 3 yesterday - thanks to CDwow - and it is UNCUT, at least the torture sequence is, I did not notice any cuts anywhere else. The picture is great, sound is beautiful and clear (annoyingly the actors diction still makes some lines unintelligible), and this a month before the US or UK and for only a tenner.

Any comments on the extras? Are the documentaries any good, etc? And is there anything else on the DVD that hasn't yet been mentioned? |

In answer to questions: This applies only to the region 3: I was surprised by the blandness of the menu. The main menu is grainy black and white (like the PTS in the film) and uses scenes from the PTS and M's scene with Bond in her apartment. The music was the 'My name is Bond' track from the soundtrack which then segued into something else (sorry I'm at work at the moment and don't have access to the disc and so I am working from memory.) The docs are the standard ones on the other regions - haven't watched them yet as I've already seen them on ITV. I am looking forward to somehow separating the film version of YKMN from the DVD audio so I can finally get a decent copy of that version. If anyone has any tips/tools for doing that I would be most grateful for help/advice. This definitely has the feel of a stop gap release. Hopefully there is a more elaborate release on the way (like the extended da Vinci Code (extra 25mins), which I have, but is not yet commercially available). So this is likely to be a double dip at some point. But what can I say, I'm too impatient to wait. So there it can now sit on the shelf with all the other Bonds - my collection complete, until Bond 22 is released. Anyone got a time machine? Note to the mods: any chance of a single thread covering the DVD release now that the region 3 ver |
