An excellent read. The Art of Bond was definitely one of the most anticipated books amongst the many that were released to tie in with Casino Royale last year.
Many thanks to Michael Bishop for the interview and Mister Asterix once again, for his outstanding graphic work. ![]() |

This book was such an incredible wasted opportunity. Like most books sanctioned by EON (with the exception of 'The James Bond Legacy') it was basically a cut and paste job to get more money out of us sad fans. Where was the real research? Where was the real in-depth discussion with the people really involved? About book design, concept art, set design, matte painting, advertising, posters etc. No, lets just get a load of sound bites from people, some not even involved with the series and decorate with pretty pictures. Some not even remotely connected with the subject. Just another piece of cynical merchandise by EON. Being a Graphic Designer myself I was really looking forward to this book. Boy was I disappointed

I got this book for Christmas- just a collection of meaningless soundbites with no relation to the images. There aren't even any captions to tell you what you're looking at for heaven's sake!
Nice pictures, shame about the dull design, cheap printing and useless text. I want to know about what I'm seeing, not about Sean Connery being fitted for a wig or some unrelated anecdote. |
