Now on the CBn main page...

Currently at $490 million+

Worldwide Boxoffice update to the end of 31/12/06 from 'Variety'

http://www.variety.com/article/VR142000099...yid=13&cs=1

CR's WORLDWIDE total now stands at $490,000,000. Will pass the $500,000,000
in 2 or 3 days time (remember tomorrow is a holiday boost for BO).

Will be the first Bond film to reach the 1/2 BILLION mark.

The film has done slighty better than i expected over the holiday period and
with releases in Italy on 5th Jan and China 30th Jan, i believe the film
will gross close upto the $550 mil mark in total.

CR had a great holiday in the US. Without it, CR wouldn't have virtually caught up with DAD.

Great news! thumbup.gif

these numbers just completes what a remarkable story CR has been, at the end of 2005, DC was attacked and ridiculed, and CR was predicted to be a failure....nothing gives me more pleasure than these numbers

No i don't. Believe this is the first Bond film to be released in
China.

It will be interesting to see what business it does.

By the way: Happy New Year to everyone at CommanderBond.net

And some more good news. It looks like CR might be a million or two ahead of where DAD was after 7 weeks in the U.S. One more decent week while some people are still off of work might put CR close to $160 million by the end of next weekend! With the movie still in theatres for the next couple of months, perhaps $165 to $170 million is obtainable, which would be close to the desired $175 million inflation adjusted numbers that would put it on par with DAD. Maybe not quite to that level, but still pretty close, which would not be bad at all, especially considering the worldwide gross has already passed the $500 million mark!

Happy New Year to all on CBn!

It wouldn't be a James Bond adventure starring Daniel Craig without some controversy!

Sadly, with it's 250 million production budget and it's 250 million marketing budget, Casino Royale has yet to break even. A huge box office disappointment.
