The International Press Academy's Golden Satellite Awards Original Score B. Clint Eastwood, Flags Of Our Fathers. Dreamworks/warner Bros Wow, the man from Carmel has certainly come a long way from The Man With No Name and Dirty Harry. :-) actually..... more than anything.... this shows the oddness of this award nomination.... Eastwood's music is awful..... he is one of the few score writers that is almost universally panned. He should get other people to score his films. the other scores there are all very deserving, however. ![]() ![]() Daniel no longer uses this account. |

Everytime a Bond film gets released the title track has been nominated for this. Satellite was formed in 1996.
Tomorrow Never Dies lost to Titanic (1997) The World Is Not Enough lost to Toy Story 2 (1999) Die Another Day lost to About a Boy (2002) So.. hey.. at least there's a trend going. I'm gonna bet it loses to Dreamgirls.. and I'll go with "Love You I Do". Granted I've never seen or heard of any of these other songs. I don't think anyway. Just a random guess - it's not really a lack of faith in Bond. ![]() ![]() |

Eastwood is generally applauded for his low-key and restrained way of scoring his own films. I do enjoy them as much as I enjoy a full blown John Williams score. And this nomination is earned. In regards to YKMN - finally, this wonderful song gets some recognition. I predict a Golden Globe nomination as well. Maybe even an Oscar nom. |

And a Razzie as well. True. But then we already know many Bond fans both love and hate that specific song. ![]() |

It certainly sounds very good in the film version. I liked it at then end credits, and it gelled to the titles also. Wouldnt it be awesome for YKMN to get that award.
