Eva Green's Vesper Lynd To Possibly Return For 'Bond 22'

In the new Arena mag, Eva Green apparently spills the beans on BOND 22. We've heard it was going to be a direct continuation - well it's a REAL continuation (this was posted over at that *other* Bond site as a summary of her comments in Arena):

She said the film is a direct continuation in terms of story as it revolves around a dark secret Vesper has. Something about her lover being tortured or something, this leads Bond to his next mission. When asked if she would return in flashbacks she says that Vesper will likely return on a computer, a pre-recorded message by a web cam on the internet.

Lovely I'm coming round to the idea of a direct sequel now and finally, since LTK This is how Bond was meant to be

'Something about her lover being tortured' --- Read Ian Fleming's 'Casino Royale' --- he wrote about her lover being held captive in his novel and why Vesper did the things she did are explained within the book.

Well, in the film CASINO ROYALE...

They do talk about Vesper's Algerian lover, who was kidnapped and used to blackmail Vesper. There's more to it than that, but it's a fairly prominent idea in the film. I'm intrigued that they're using that as a leaping-off point for BOND 22.

So they could be a flashback to that scene in Bond 22?

I don't think this is a spoiler for anyone who has read the CR script (or will see the movie on the 17th). It's pretty clear this boyfriend revealation directs Bond to the final scene (and it's pretty clear the final scene is the start of a new story).

Well, this is true. But to have confirmation of it is cool - this is the first time anybody's given any details about the story of BOND 22. Furthermore, the idea of Green appearing again, albeit in recorded message, is new.

Now does anybody want to go out and buy Arena, so we call all read the exact wording of Green's comments?

I'm happy that Green will be back as Vesper, usually in sequels a totaly different actress appears as the same character (if needed for a minor role).

is this gem ligit? I'm not one to be paranoid but the 'Circus' has reccived many many false reports lately, dear old George Smiley is about to pull some hair..

It’s interesting that the love knot that the boyfriend gave her is so prominently featured as a graphic on the official sight.

… and that the Casino Royale script suggests heavily that the boyfriend was in fact part of the villainous organisation, who simply seduced and used Vesper.

Will Bond meet him in Bond 22 I wonder?

Seems very plausible. Nice to get Vesper haunting Bond again, if only in a minor way. Not distracting from his new romance.

I just hope that we dont get Vespers spirit walking around, a web cam and a recorded message is fine for me
