I wonder what she thinks of the films - she must have seen all of them, pretty much. Did she get a real kick out of attending the premiere of OHMSS? What's her view on the Messervy-Hargreaves conundrum? Inquiring minds are wasting time asking these sorts of questions on the internet.

How well does this speak for the film? I would think HM would be pretty picky about the films she attends.

Well I think it's become tradition that she attends the premieres of the Bond films - one of Britain's most successful exports, both cinematically and generally. The only other premieres attended by Her Majesty were YOLT and DAD. If one hasn't seen any other Bonds then one will be wondering why CR doesn't have the usual stuff set in outer space. With regards to Messervy/Hargreaves, I wouldn't expect Her Majesty to know who Admiral Hargreaves was, but I'm sure she remembers knighting Sir Miles. However, I may have underestimated Her Majesty. She may be one of the biggest Bond fans in the world, she may even contribute to the CBn forums! It's certainly public knowledge that she has a large collection of Corgis. It always makes GREAT press to have the queen attend the premier. Almost always a picture of her attending makes into into the papers world-wide....
plus, it's so appropriate for a Bond film.... (One wonders what she thought of DAD...)  Daniel no longer uses this account. |
