That's a bit crap- they've just stuck some photos in the gunbarrel.

Fake I think. Not even sure that those boats pictured are from CASINO ROYALE. Looks alright as a poster, but doesn't really fit with the style we've seen so far for publicity for the movie.

Could be very well that this is the real thing: my Sony contact told me some while ago there will be an international campaigne that is sort of a photo montage and this seems to fit the bill...

Hmm that's interesting. I'm slightly suspicious of the fact that there are no villains shown though. They would usually feature on a montage I would guess. We shall see I imagine! |

Well, the guy's feedback is fine considering the number of sales he has made.
The give-away as to whether it is legit or not is that it is double sided. It costs too much for the purveyor of fake or repro posters to print double sided. This is legit folks. A bit of a miss step on this design is my opinion. (But it will probably have to make its way into the collection) ![]() ________________________________________________

The natural color image of that shot of Craig sure looks a lot better. It was too glossy and shiny before.

Does your Sony contact say whether there will be an 11x14" lobby card set for this film? My impression is that these marketing items have died a death but.... ![]() ________________________________________________

I don't really like it. It's a poster designed to showcase their marketing partners, not the film. I mean, are boats a huge part of this movie? No. But they are an important tie-in partner.
Also don't like the gun barrel motif...cheap. But maybe this is a program cover for product tie-ins or something? So far, I love the U.S. poster best of all. Bond and Vesper on the steps of Casino Royale. Clean and simple and loaded with tension and mood. THAT’S what this movie is. Like everyone else, I loved the photo montages of yesteryear. But that's when the montages where about THE FILM, beautifully painted, and not just a collection of product pics. ![]() |

Hmm. Looks a bit gaudy in comparison to the classier posters of Bond in the Casino and Bond/Vesper on the steps of the Casino.
Zencat's right about the "marketing partners angle" of it; looks a bit like the ads that show up in magazines like Premiere or Variety that are advertising certain products featured in the film by surrounding them with great shots from the film or (as in this case) plonking them on one of the posters. I still like the teaser poster the best. |
