Wow!
If IFP were to release the Benson short story collection we've all been hoping for, this, and possibly future Bond-Moneypenny stories, should be included in the book. Maybe with more material to include such as this, IFP would finally release that collection. ![]() "The art of making a Bond movie is to do exactly the same thing- only to do it differently." --Christopher Wood

Not a bad little scoop, eh? And a bonus here is you get that sexy Kristen Dust cover.
However, as Tatler is a UK mag, I might have a time finding it here in LA. Going to wait a week, then do a hunt. For those of you in the UK who pick this up, I'd love to hear your thoughts. (Can't help but wonder if Young Bond short stories are planned.) ![]() |

(The) Tatler, eh? Bond fans move in all the right circles.
Does this mean that La Weinberg is finally going to get a place in the literature forum? Hmmm? This post has been edited by Hitch: 13 October 2006 - 17:29 ![]() ![]() The Irish Examiner on Casino Royale: "Craig considerably better than expected." Father Ted: "Careful now." "Down with that sort of thing." CBn on To Whom It May Condemn, a crappy fanfic novella: "Stop getting Bond wrong!" Bored? Tour the nightspots with Ralf the Taxi. Yes, I'm a bighead: full of Vaulting Ambition. |

Zen, you are a star.
I'm going to try to track a copy down tomorrow. Am flying to the South of France in the morning too. Have a Proof of Young Bond 3 in my bag. The Moneypenny short story will be the icing on the cake. |

(Can't help but wonder if Young Bond short stories are planned.) Only if they are collectively released like FYEO and O&TLD, I would hope. Shame this is for UK only. Pretty bad they haven't published TMD in the states yet. ![]() ![]() |

Wow! If IFP were to release the Benson short story collection we've all been hoping for, this, and possibly future Bond-Moneypenny stories, should be included in the book. Maybe with more material to include such as this, IFP would finally release that collection. I was going to suggest that--combining the Benson and Weinberg short stories into a dual collection. That would help fill out the book and give us the short stories in novel format that so many of us have been pining for for so long. I have to say when I first read about Samantha Weinberg's short story, I nearly fell out of my chair. I certainly wasn't expecting that. And I have to echo K1Bond007. It is a shame that this story can only be found in the UK--same as The Moneypenny Diaries: Guardian Angel after nearly a full year later. (However, I finally did break down and buy TMD:GA this last week. I should get it about the time Casino Royale opens. Now that I bought it, just see TMD:GA get released in the U.S. in a couple of months. ![]() No more foreplay.
Speak now or forever hold your piece. I think he got the point. Looks like he came to a dead end. He had lots of guts! Yes, considerably. |

Read it today. It's.... fine. The situation isn't particularly clever and Bond doesn't feel like Bond to me but I'm sure some will enjoy it. It's less a thriller than a Mills & Boon story with Bond as the studmuffin hero.
Personally I prefer my Bond short stories to be a little snappier than this. |

Any chance of a synopsis in spoiler tags, Mark?
Someone should do a main page article about all the post-Fleming Bond short stories, with brief plot descriptions and (if applicable - wouldn't be to something like Benson's "The Heart of Erzulie") publication data. I'm looking at you, zen. |
