Now on the CBn main page...
http://www.aintitcool.com/display.cgi?id=24436 Fairly positive! It seems that the Cornell song didn't impress (that's one of the things I'm worried about). I'd love to see the film with the temp score, just out of curiousty of which cues they used and where. This post has been edited by Qwerty: 9 September 2006 - 22:26 |

Fairly positive? It's a bloody rave review! The first of many, no doubt (Although why does the guy keep going on about Tarantino in every paragraph?) Edit - So, two and a half hours, eh? I bet the final cut of the movie won't be that long. From what this guy says, it sounds like several of the Bond-Vesper romantic scenes will be hitting the cutting room floor. |

Jeez what a moaner, Bond shouldn't be seen eating? Well he does in the books so he should on screen, simple as that. He especially likes toast with caviar etc in the books too.

Whoa.
Not going to read the whole thing. I don't want my own opinions shaped. His opening was all I needed. If a first cut works THIS well...fantastic. ![]() |

I'm really hoping for an extended cut DVD, although knowing EON that won't happen. Yeah that would be quite something. It may just be deleted scenes on the DVD though, which would be fine by me. I mean its entirely possible that some scenes really do drag on and the film is better without them, but we'll all want to see them in some form anyway. Of course Sony are known to do the 'double dip' when it comes to DVDs - i.e. release a standard edition DVD six months after the theatrical release, and then put out an Uber Special Edition with extra scenes just prior to release of the sequel - in this case November 2008. But, we are speculating idly |

From what this guy says, it sounds like several of the Bond-Vesper romantic scenes will be hitting the cutting room floor. I hope they don't whittle down the Bond-Vesper scenes too much, that's the most important part of the film to me... If there are things that can go without affecting the story or emotion, I'm all for cutting the film down a bit more, but I hope they wouldn't just chop away to get it to a specific length. (Especially after Pirates just made a billion dollars with a 2 1/2 hour run time.) I'm usually not one to advocate really long running times, but I'm up for Casino Royale joining On Her Majesty's Secret Service at the top of the Bond running times. ![]() "One day, and he accepted the fact, he would be brought to his knees by love or by luck. Yeah no doubt, but it IS possible that some of the scenes really do slow down the film and simply aren't necessary. All of us would happily sit through a 4 hour version of Casino Royale BTW I hope Daniel Craig has heard the feedback from this screening, so finally he can be vindicated after all the "fan" |

The thing that really got my attention was how the torture sequence has come across. Sounds like they have got it right! Although there is a little bit of nitpicking, overall it's a solid review! I like how he confirms that it, at least in his opnion lives up to the trailer. But to those who have read the script was there any doubt?

The whole film feels is very retro to the point where someone asked what period it was set in. Even though the technology and cars are clearly modern, you honestly can't tell the period. It's almost like a Pulp Fiction setting.
Interesting. And, judging by the discussion of the parkour sequence, it sounds like Bond will, in a way, be "learning his trade" from just about everyone he meets in this film, taking a little bit here and a little bit there. |

My god, now I'm really worried about 'You know my name', although the rest of the movie seems pretty good.
I hope we can hear YKMN soon too know if they were right choosing Cornell... Zencat, it still works for me, try reloading. This post has been edited by _Ozu_: 9 September 2006 - 21:28 ![]() << 007 SPAIN >>

Hey, the story now doesn't load for me. It says Not Found. Did it get yanked?

I don't think it's been yanked, maybe this explains it...
http://www.aintitcool.com/node/30008 Apparently they are doing some testing and it may cause some problems. ![]() ![]() "switch the bloody machine off!!!" |
