Well, I don't know piddly about planes, but that thing certainly is a beast.
(I know about the physics and all that, but it still amazes me that those things can stay in the air. I swear somehow physics is cheating.) ![]() ![]() |

A Boeing 747 displayed at a Duxford air show a year or so ago and although I'm not usually into airliners, I was amazed at what this aeroplane could do.
It flew so low (as low as permitted) and slow that you would think that it should drop out of the sky. It also did a complete circuit inside the airfield perimeter, which for its size was amazing. I'm not sure, but I think that it belonged to South African Airways, great pilot wherever it came from. |

Interesting that Boeing's own website makes no mention of a "747-xxx" at all.

That's because it's not a real aircraft. It's basically a 747 that has beeen dressed up by the production designers to be some kind of never seen before prototype. I'm no expert in aerodynamics but after showing the pics to a few friends that do it seems that this prototype would never get off the ground. However that should be way over the heads of the average audience so I doubt it'll be a problem. ![]() ![]() "switch the bloody machine off!!!" |
