Never too early to start talking Young Bond 4. At his Edinburgh appearance Charlie again confirmed Mexico and the Caribbean, but then added another piece of the puzzle:
Female villain. ![]() |

I'm amazed there haven't been more female lead villains. We women are a right dodgy lot, mostly far more devious, cunning and untrustworthy than men.

Yeah, it's really amazing how few main female villans we've had (only 3 by my count: Klebb, Electra, Nena Blofeld). But we've had no shortage of female henchmen, so that makes up for it.

I'm still disappointed that Higson scrapped his idea of setting the book in the Alps. One of my favorite of the Fleming books is On Her Majesty's Secret Service and since Bond's parents died on a mountainside in the Alps the dramatic possibilites are incredible.

I always had a very strong idea she would return. Higson underplayed Charnage as a villain for her to be the strong and imposing sort. Knowing the villain was to be female in YB 4, naturally Babushka springs to mind.
Will be interesting to see what she gets up to after being spared by Bond in if my memory serves correct, the underground rail section. She is strong for her age, ruthless, and a liar? Is she really a mother of a boy - who is similar to Bond according to her, being strong and brave. The henchmen maybe? ![]() |

Even though it makes sense that the female villian of YB4 will be Babushka, for some reason I think she will be back in Book 5. Or maybe both. She's the Blofeld of the Young Bond series.

Love that name. Always thought Mr. or Mrs. Glass sounded like an interesting villain name.
Wonder if we'll see Babushka in there as well... ![]() |
