Saw an ad for it on FX last night. As they did last year, Sony is using the season premiere of Nip/Tuck to showcase all their fall/Xmas films, including Casino Royale. Its on Tuesday Sep 5th, at 10pm on FX.

They didn't specifically say anything about it being a new trailer, but as its going to be 2 and a half months before the film's release, and with the report that the new trailer is in cinemas in September, I think I'd go 'all in' on it being something new  I remember last year they showed stuff like "Rent" and "Memoirs of a Geisha" which were Nov/Dec releases. BTW some of the other films they mentioned in the ad were Running with scissors, Holiday, and The Pursuit of Happyness (not a typo!). (Didn't see mention of Rocky Balboa). |

Yeah, I'd assume they're not going to show a months-old trailer, especially when the new trailer should be done.
If it's like last year, Sony is the only sponsor of the premiere of the show, and they're paying quite a lot of money for that. |

Labor day/early September is usually a dead zone at the box office so its not a good time to put your new trailer into theaters when nobody's going. (I say "official" because there's always the chance it will hit youtube or somewhere similar a few days beforehand. IIRC, the teaser was on the net WEEKS before its official debut with the release of The Da Vinci Code.) And DaltonCraig, its on FX Network. Check your local listings, as they say. |

I saw that as well on Rescue Me and hoped we see an ad then. Nip/Tuck is my other favorite show, so this will be great. From what I remember last year when they ran those trailers for Rent and Memoirs of a Geisha, they played their full trailers and those were the only things they showed during that commercial block. No car commercials or ads for Cheetos, just the trailer. It kind of leaves an impression and CR should fit nicely there. "You didn't think I'd miss this performance, did you?"
