I gave it a nine. Truly Brosnan's best Bond film, and the film that should have been the template for his run, sadly he wanted to "act" and we got the dull and dreary The World is not Enough. Still, they rebounded with Die Another Day, so it's not all bad.

I give it a 9, only the lack of a truly great henchman keeps it from a ten.

I gave it an 8. Also, thanks for putting another one of my reviews in the article. It never fails to make me feel like a real writer.

I gave it a 7, mostly because is a good/strong follow up to GoldenEye.
But this movie is also great for other reasons, such as: - the fantastic pre-titles sequence; - the exciting music of the film; - the well done car chase scene in Berlim(classic). ![]() ![]() Member, Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Timothy Dalton, Daniel Craig, The World is not Enough, For Your Eyes Only, Goldeneye, Famke Janssen, Licence to Kill James Bond: If you can't trust a Swiss banker, then what's the world come to? An 8. The movie's biggest flaw was Elliot Carver's whininess. "Not to me", the karate action, and his squealing death (a bloodcurdling scream would have given the "people what they want") are enough to knock it down a notch. Little weaknesses here and there (like "Surrender" not being the title song, or lost potential that permeates the air at times) knock it down the other.
Great fun all around, though. |

I gave it glorious ten. One of the finest, imo.
It's very much of Brosnan's show, it has the action from brosnan's bond flicks, still having this certain classic feel to it, and it also has many cheesy lines. With the greatest movie villain from Brosnan era; nutcase media mogul who kills/starts wars so he gets his headlines ! Pryce was a great casting choise for the role of Elliot Carver. It also had two very beatiful bond girls. All in all, good James Bond flick.
