Yep, I saw it opening day. It was really the first Bond film I tracked during production and made a point of seeing on opening day. My step-brother and I trekked down into Hollywood in my new Fiat Spider 2000 (I had only been driving for a handful of months). I'm pretty sure the theater it was playing at is now abandon and probably being used as a crack house (no joke, this is Hollywood Blvd we're talking about).

I remember being blown away by the stunts and film's fast pace. I still think it has the best stunts of the series.

My first 007-in-a-theater....great stuff. Loved the song, Conti's score, Melina, the stunts, the fun 'weak car' chase, the underwater stuff...The best summer attitude Bond film ever, despite ski sequences...Roger's best film for me by far. cool.gif

I love FYEO, it is fantastic... smile.gif

It is one of my favourite Bond films.

Here are some of the things I love:-

- The PTS

- The scenes in Greece, especially the car chase

- The ski chase and the scene with Bond and Melina on the sleigh, is one of the most touching scenes in a Bond movie.

- Kristatos tying Bond and Melina up and dragging them over coral. "The sharks have them...".

- meeting Q - "Forgive me father for I have sinned". "That's putting it mildly, 007".

- the ending, with the climb of Meteora.

Oh, I forgot, I also love when Bond meets Columbo for the first time, and also when he kicks Loque and his car off the cliff.

Thanks for making me feel old Turn (just kidding) wink.gif

This was my second theater James Bond movie and initially I was not crazy about it as I was expecting a movie more like MOONRAKER, but as the years have gone by I have grown to appreciate it more and now rank it as one of my favorites of the series.

Of course I always loved Lynn Holly Johnson, always thought that Carole Bouquet was an appealing Bond girl (what is it about French girls?) and always loved the action scenes.

Robert Brown was Admiral Hargreaves in TSWLM, OP, AVTAK, TLD and LTK damnit
Enforcer, Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Roger Moore
Proud defender of Barbara Bach, Carole Bouquet, Barbara Carrera, Maryam D'Abo, A View to a Kill, Never Say Never Again and The Spy Who Loved Me.

Thanks for making me feel old Turn (just kidding) wink.gif

I didn't do myself any favors, either by bringing this up. But it's always fun to look back.

That was back in the day you only found out things if you belonged to a fan club (which I didn't join til that fall) or from other sources, such as Starlog Magazine. I remember pouring over those magazines each month and often you'd find just little tidbits in the briefly section such as "Topol will play a mysterious Greek in the new James Bond film For Your Eyes Only" or "It's been confirmed Jaws will not return in For Your Eyes Only."

I remember opening up the Sunday paper the week before the film came out, when they teased the coming attractions to find that fantastic pair of legs with a crossbow in hand and Bond looking very Bondian. I also think I saw a teaser commercial on TV as well.

I saw it exactly 25 years ago today at the Melody Drive-In with my little brother and a family friend. It's the only Bond film since MR that I haven't seen on an indoor screen. I remember that fall it was supposed to be at a local theater, but Time Bandits was held over instead and I never got to see FYEO indoors.

I saw it two more times at the drive-in that summer. It's memories like that that make being a fan a lot of fun.
