Marvellous stuff.

I do hope the book about the life and times of Thunderball gets finished and finds a publisher.

Is there any news on this? I understand this is being worked on at present.

Thanks again.

This is one of the most amazing and best recherched articles I have ever read on CBn. And on James Bond in general.

Outstanding job, Charles!

A most fascinating read.

Thoroughly enjoyed the recollections of life back in the 1960s, as well as Mr Whittingham's [Jr.] opinions on the continuation novels and the modern pictures.

Thank you very much indeed; an article of the highest calibre.

Thanks everyone. As I told Sylvan, this was my favorite CBn interview that I've conducted. They were both so forthright and the anecdotes were just amazing.

I can remember building model bombers with my father - so I can totally picture what went on with Jonathan and Jack.

McClory in an amphibious car? Wow.

Jack Whittingham is sort of a footnote in Bond history, but I think this interview helps change that a little bit. I hope so anyway.

Wow! This is an excellent interveiw! I never really even knew who Jack Whittingham was. McClory tends to dominate the Thunderball tale. But now I see Whittingham was a major creative force here. It's nice to see that Fleming and Whittingham stayed friends, even though the trail. McClory, as always, is a snake-in-the-grass.

You know, I wonder if any of those first edition Thunderball's had that slip of paper crediting Whittingham, etc. That would be a nice find. And "M" stands for Mother? Did we know this? That's cool.

Fantastic work, doublenoughtspy. This is one of CBn's finest and a major contribution to the world of Bond. thumbup.gif

Quite a litigious one, though.

However, the biggest misconception which is the misconception that upsets us most of all, is the one where people have claimed that Jack “due to financial problems, backed out of the Main court Case and sold his part of the rights to Kevin McClory”. I quote from a letter that I send out recently which addresses this issue.

Well, I can confirm that she actually sent that letter smile.gif Heh. True story. I received it.

But don't look at me for starting that one, that was my good buddy Mr. Benson. Nice one. wink.gif
