Wasn't sure if this merited a new thread, but there's some good additional information on the filming at Dunsfold Park Aerodrome in Surrey in this article from the Surrey Advertiser. Seems to be a bit of confusion over the dates for filming mentioned, but looks like the second unit has been filming at the airfield at nighttime for the last week or so. Appears that this will indeed be the
Miami International Airport scene

Here's the link to the newspaper article:

Yes, I was planning on popping by after work today. I'm sure I won't see anything, but might as well drive by.

Can anybody give not too spoilerific descriptions of what I might be looking out for?

I would imagine maybe the Airbus that is mentioned in the article and then possibly some other vans, tankers or trucks. Hope this isn't too spoilerific wink.gif but good luck when you're driving past - hope you manage to see something decent!

I've been before and I'm not actually sure there are many places where you can see in, but Google earth shows a couple of roads which run next to it, so I'll see what I can see. I'm only a mile or two away so may as well. At the very least I'll take a pic of the 'CR Loc' signs that are all over the place around here!

How come the guy in the article was quoted yesterday and said the airbus lands tomorrow, which they say is Saturday? Surely tomorrow would be today? biggrin.gif Those naughty journos...

Had a little sniff around- sadly I couldn't see anyway of seeing in. All very pretty countryside but too many trees! And an airfield is a big place so you can't really get near enough to see the main buildings from the outside.

Nice find, Vauxhall. thumbup.gif

At last the mystery of where they would be shooting the MIA action has been solved (although I think we discovered some of it was also shot at the Prague airport, did we?).

Casino Royale Productions wrote to residents on Monday, May 22 to inform them that night sequences involving some action scenes would be filmed from Tuesday, May 30 until Friday, June 30.

That letter would make a nice 007 collectible. smile.gif

An item I observed in Karlovy Vary were several white trucks with red AFM painted on the side. These were providing technicians with power and lights equipment and they were from GB. I suppose the production would also work with these people in Dunsfold Park. So if you see them there it shouldn't be far from the actual shooting.

Well, no- we've known they're going to be shooting in Dunsfold Park for quite sometime- there's no mystery as to where they are (!); just see the other thread I started about the presence of fluorescent signs with 'CR' on them pointing out exactly where the crew is!
Plus in the UK you can always spot a film crew by the presence of LEE Lighting trucks- but rather I was just wondering if there's anything that I should be looking out for that they've set up like special aircraft or vehicles we'll see on screen. Often when a film crew has made a false bit of set it's rather hard to spot unless you know what you're looking for as they're rather good at their work and it all looks real!

There was never really any doubt, was there? We knew they were filming at the airfield and it did rather make sense... annoying to know they're actually shooting right now, though! It's quite frustrating driving past these CR signs knowing there's something much more interesting happening just up the road when you have to go to work!

Hmm, an Airbus landing? That has to be the bit where....

The tanker drives onto a live runway and has a near miss with an incoming jumbo jet.

If one can ignore the bias, I find it amazing residents can complain about the odd night time noisy shoot which, afterall, is for the new Bond film.

Would not the stories they could tell each other at the 'local' keep their tails up for this (minimal) duration?

Remember in terms of reporting “the residents” are probably as representative as “the Bond fans” are by “Craig not Bond” when that is reported upon.

I.E Inside the mind of a journalist is a landscape brimming with histrionic conflict that bears little resemblance to the real world, just a small bit here and there, just to get them started.

I dont know, perhaps I'm being unreasonable, but I think its a bit much that these people buy a house near an airfield/film studio and then complain about noise. How long has the airfield been there?
