Sounds interesting. I can't imagine how the Royal Family will play a role in the book. Perhaps Bond has to protect them?

Who knows? Maybe more details will come up about it when Book 3 comes out.

Who knows? Maybe more details will come up about it when Book 3 comes out. So what does he plan with book 4??? Book 3 is explained, book 5 is told about. So does he actually plan to do book 4? Funny that we know more about Book 5 than Book 4. All we know so far is it will be set in Mexico and Caribbean, although at the signing last Wed Charlie said "probably" Mexico, so... Okay, here's something a little weird. In an audio clip on www.youngbond.com (one of the items you must "find" in a game) Charlie again says a future book will be set in the Alps "with skiing and mountain climbing" etc. He originally said this would be Book 4, but now he says Book 4, "the next book", is set in Mexico. So could the Alps be Book 5? Unlikely because Book 5 is set during the summer of 1934 and I doubt there could be skiing duing the summer.
So what's going on? Here's my favorite conspiracy theory. Maybe Book 4 is set in the Alps as originally stated, but it will not be released until 2009. Why? Because Charlie is actually writing the adult Centenary novel -- "the next book"-- which we know is coming in 2008 and that is the book set in Mexico. I can dream, can't I? ![]() ![]() "Fandom is where people come together and complain about what they like." Visit The Young Bond Dossier, now the OFFICIAL site for Young Bond news |

I'm not keen at all on another hot location like Mexico. Besides wasn't it in the Alps that Bonds parents were killed - how about that for a dramatic moment to overcome. ![]() ![]() ![]() Robert Brown was Admiral Hargreaves in TSWLM, OP, AVTAK, TLD and LTK damnit Enforcer, Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Roger Moore http://www.jamesbondandbeyond.com/detectiv...dex.php?act=idx |

That sounds like a plausible conspiracy theory, and one whose bandwagon I wouldn't mind jumping onto. Higson would be perfect for the adult Centenary novel, and it'd make sense for the Fleming estate to stick with someone they're familiar with and who has already proven himself. But now that I think about it, do you think they'd hold off Book 4 until 2009, thus leaving 2008 without a Young Bond adventure. Sure the Bond fans who read both Young Bond and Adult Bond wouldn't notice, as we'll be reading Centenary novel in 2008, but what about the children (who are supposed to be the main audience of the Young Bond series) who won't read the Adult Bond novel. Wouldn't that year without Young Bond risk losing the child audience? Although, I suppose it's no problem for the Harry Potter audience, so why should it be any different for YB? Perhaps I've answered my own question. Does this seem to be the most confusing post ever to anyone but me? This post has been edited by Aussie21: 30 May 2006 - 23:39 ![]() |
