I'll have to keep my eyes open for it, though before I even look at this one, I need to get The Moneypenny Diaries and Blood Fever. It's a good thing I got a promotion and a raise because I can see I'll be spending quite a bit of money this year.

I think there are several CBNers who have essays in this book...including me. smile.gif

Great find Qwert-O. I didn't even know what this book was going to be called, let alone that it is already available for pre-order.

I'll definitely be checking this one out then!

For everyone trying to keep track of upcoming Bond book releases, just keep watching the CBn Calendar on the lower right side of the CBn main page. Just keep in mind that it only shows the 10 closest (time-wise) upcoming releases, there are a lot more Bond books coming after those. (This '21st Century' one for example.)

I had a topic, 21st Century James Bond. It referred more to his origin being revamped. Hint to moderators, maybe merge the topics?

That being said, I cannot wait to read the book!

I haven't checked out the link but how ironic is the title "Why we still need him" supposed to be!!!! The people who NEED Bond to continue is NOT US but Sony/Eon and the producers.

Aussie congrats on the promotion and the raise. I recently got one as well. Looks like we'll both be spending our money on 007 this year.

Check out the description now on Amazon:

Book Description
The staying power of the world’s most dashing secret agent and the evolution of the James Bond franchise are explored in this smart yet nostalgic collection of essays. Leading writers, including Raymond Benson, J. A. Konrath, Raelynn Hillhouse, and John Cox, discuss the 10 sexiest Bond girls, the best villains, and the controversy surrounding the latest actor to play James Bond. Topics covered range from the playful—how to build a secret lair and avoid the perennial mistakes made by would-be world dominators—to the thought-provoking, such as Bond’s place in the modern world, his Oedipal tendencies and perceived misogyny, and the unerring allure of the charming spy.
