This seems to have the exact same premise as Death Rays, Jet Packs, Stunts, and Supercars: The Fantastic Physics of Film's Most Celebrated Secret Agent by Barry Parker, which was recently released. Having two books on the science of Bond (and covering the same ground) is too redundant, especially because they are being released within a year of each other. What more could this add that Parker's book doesn't have?

True that both books seem similar, but I'm definitely willing to give this one a chance. Who knows.

Parker's book was woefully disappointing to me. I sure hope this one is better...

I like the idea that 'Who was the best James Bond?' is to be answered in their trivia list. 'Roger was best- Fact!'
Otherwise, sounds rather a fun book. |

I, for one, am delighted that there is another woman writing about Bond!
I think it's a good topic. I don't have the Jet Packs book but it's possible the market has room for both. Of course, it's also possible that they were both in production at the same time and weren't aware of each other. Different publishers have very different timelines for book production. I have one publisher that goes from contract to publication in 18 months, another that can do it in less than a year. ![]() I know a great restaurant in Karachi.
