I tacked a paragraph about this book onto another news story a while back, but I think people may have missed it. So I'm making this its own main pager.

If its about Bond reflecting on 50s and 60s society in his armchair, bourbon in hand, Morlands in mouth, its better than deciding whether a lanky Croat, an upper class Hugh Grant-alike, an Aussie fairy or a fat jock should be Bond #6.

Has the Moneypenny Diaries been confirmed as a project by IFP yet? They said they were concerned or whatever and that they were going to look into it, but if there really was a problem you think you would have heard something by now.

QUOTE(K1Bond007 @ 16 August 2005 - 11:58) Has the Moneypenny Diaries been confirmed as a project by IFP yet? They said they were concerned or whatever and that they were going to look into it, but if there really was a problem you think you would have heard something by now. I recently asked, but I didn't hear back (which is not typical of them--they usually get right back to me when I ask a question). Something tells me the book isn't official and they are trying to decide what to do about it. When they decide, I'm sure we will hear about it. ![]() |

Nadda. But considering the source story is from last year and the book has yet to show up on Amazon, I think it's safe to say this book is isn't coming anytime soon. My guess would be sometime next year. Unless it's not official in which case it may never appear.

Nice find, Qwerty. Might be an interesting read. Simon Winder previously edited 'My Name's Bond, James Bond' (Penguin , 2000) in which he wrote that "Fleming's hold on the British male imagination remains so great that the landscape of our postwar culture would be unrecognizable without his iconic hero." I'm looking forward to this one. ![]() "This is not the Berlitz School of Languages, Head of S."

I'm definitely looking forward to this. Not too keen on the UK cover art, but as the saying goes...
