Hey, what a very pleasant surprise to see this appear on the main page -- I didn't know it was coming. smile.gif I'm looking forward to reading this as I loved the first "second glace" (DAF) article. Thanks Ed. thumbup.gif

(Also love too cool shark graphics. Let me take a wild guess that that was Mr. Asterix at work. tongue.gif)

A very nice read with some excellent graphics.

I agree with most of the writer's points. I know of at least one CBner who probaly won't. wink.gif

This article was great and I agree with all of the points, especially the parts where it explained how near perfect Thunderball was, and how much NSNA didn't really make much sense and didn't hold together in certain parts. wink.gif

Wonderful article Genrewriter! Really enjoyed this one and I hope many other CBn'ers read it if they have not yet.

Really great work here, Genrewriter. I love how you've looked at each film element by element. Great insights...I never thought about how each pre-titles (or in NSNA's case, opening titles) sequence is about a "female" deception. Somehow after reading this I'm in the mood to watch NSNA (now that's an accomplishment). You've shown me subtitles in that film I never really saw before. And I certainly agree with you that Brandauer's Largo is a first rate villain.

Why hasn't Dlibras checked in her yet? Being the resident NSNA fan here on CBn, I thought he'd be the first.

I mentioned how much I appreciated the article in another thread and I know how some people are on CBn about repeating oneself in a post wink.gif

Yes...it is a nice piece and good to see that some of the wonderful things about my favorite 007 movie (Never Say Never Again) are finally getting some airtime here on CBn.

And while I naturally disagree with a few of G’s opinions, I found it a very fair piece. Something that’s hard to find about Never Say Never Again. Wouldn’t you say, DLib?

Yeah it doesn't get the respect that it deserves....Really, I would be happy to write a defense of Never Say Never Again, but I'm sure I would get flames galore.

Interesting picture in the newest edition of 007 Magazine of Roger Moore and Sean Connery meeting at a London restaurant while they werre each shooting their respective 1983 Bond movies. I saw the picture back in 1983 accompanying a piece on the Sunday Times coverage of "The Battle of the Bonds" but had always assumed it was achieved through photo trickery - guess not.

1) Please write an article about it, because NSNA deserves to be noted... Its one of the best Bond films ever... Though I may like Dalton's, Brosnan's and Lazenby's one off better than NSNA (except TND, that sucked!), I believe it is truly one of the ten best Bond films of all time. Definetely underrated.

2) What is that picture of Moore and Connery on a restaurant? Care to share it?

Thanks.
