Now on the CBn main page...

[sub]A paperback edition of the Young Bond novel that went under the radar[/sub]

-------------------

Is this out; has anyone got it?

I have the UK Trade paperback and US hardcover - but has the paperback been released yet?

Showing a "Usually ships within 1 to 4 weeks" on amazon seems a little odd for a new book, and I haven't seen this version anywhere in any stores.

Anyone know?

It's been on Amazon from the beginning, but there is no US SilverFin paperback (confirmed by IFP). I don't know why that listing is still there.

Really?

Can you describe the cover or attach a pic, rafterman? It isn't the US proof edition, is it? Where did you get it?

I can attach a pic later, but it just looks like the US edition, but it's a TPB instead of hardback. The MSRP is $7.99 and I picked it up in Seoul. Plenty of publishers print international on their overseas books, but change nothing else. It only says international edition on the outside, inside it says first American edition.

Cool. Thank you, rafterman. I guess this solves the mystery of Amazon's US paperback listing. It's the international edition. smile.gif

I wonder why there haven't been any pictures or news about this version.

I have some "international edition" paperbacks of the Gardner books. They tend to fly under the collector radar, but in the purest sense they are the "true first" paperbacks so I always try to get them. They tend to look identical to the issue paperbacks and sometimes the only way to tell they are early exports is to look on the copyright page. A nice one is Role of Honor because the cover is bright yellow instead of the gold cover that was ultimately used.
