Many of you have been talking about the 2008 presidential election in this thread so I thought it would be a good idea to make a thread just for the 2008 election.
Who do you think will be nominated by each party? Who do you want to run? Who would you vote for (assuming you're American and 18+ years old)? Are you a Democrat or a Republican? I think we'll see Hillary R. Clinton vs. Rudolph W. Giuliani. I'll vote for Rudy because he is awesome and because I'm a Republican. Check this out! "In choosing a president, we really don't choose a Republican or Democrat, a conservative or liberal. We choose a leader." - Rudolph W. Giuliani This post has been edited by Righty007: 11 May 2008 - 18:33 ![]() |

I do, but following politics for 30+ years has given me a different perspective. There doesn't seem to be as much difference in the parties anymore.

QUOTE(Taro Todoroki @ 12 June 2005 - 22:22) The Constitution will not change. The President of the United States of America has to be born in the United States of America. It's been that way for 216 years. Sorry, Arnie. ![]() |

I agree, Righty - Hillary against Rudy - AND I am a Republican so it's Rudy all the way!!!
True, the chances of the Constitution being amended are slim; it has been presented to Congress but has a long way to go. ![]() You know the name...you know the number...

QUOTE(cvheady007 @ 12 June 2005 - 21:37) Hmmm, I'm not sure how realistic it is for someone to go from being a mayor to president. And I believe Giulianni is pro choice, which wouldn't fly with the anti-abortion rights people who have significant power in the GOP. ![]() ![]() "That's a splendid name for it. Jeb Bush vs Hillary Clinton... Clinton would win because, well it's Clinton's turn (Bush, Clinton, Bush, Clinton).
Then after 8 years of either one of those we could move to Chelsea Clinton vs the Olsen twins, sorry, mean the Bush twins (one for P other for VP), just to keep the whole Bush vs Clinton thing going for a while. ![]() ![]() |

Certainly being mayor of NYC provides as much responsibilty and difficulty equal to the responsibility of a governor from nearly any state. Don't really care about the 2008 election at this point, mainly because it's 2005. ![]() |

Btw, Clinton was for the death penalty & that didn't stop him from being nominated by the Dems. ![]() |
