My favorite Connery movie...

Theres not much I'd change to it. It could do with less underwater scenes. I know they were all excited by this new underwater filming thing, but still... Self control please people.

Apart from that theres nothing I can think of. Bond's nurse could have been a better actress I guess.

One thing I would change is the final fight on the Disco Volante, which looks a bit naff even for a 60's film. If the technology wasn't available to make the fight look plausible I would rather they have just slugged it out on a stationary boat.

The excessive underwater scenes never bother me. It's a good moment to light a cigarette, or take a sip of your coffee. A good film doesn't have to be edge-of-the-seat ALL the way through. Look at how frenetic the second halves of TND and DAD are! I bet you wish there was some slow underwater padding in those films.

As a final note, and again it concerns length, I would have slipped in a couple of extra scenes. Firstly, Bond being shown over the Disco Volante, which I believe was in the original script but never filmed. Secondly, Bond and Domino meeting in secret to begin their affair. Once we reach the beach scene (Vargas' death), Bond and Domino talk as if they've been dating for years, and if feels like a bit of a leap.

Aside from that it's all good. TB is my favourite of the Connery Bonds.

I've always loved this one. Through CBn, I have learned of the interesting back-story that was Kevin McClory, which somewhat taints my view of this film. But for everything that is Bond, Thunderball still has it all.
