To be or not to be, that is the question. Whether tis nobler in the mind, to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune...... and I could go on. Grade 11 drama.

I loved High School drama, Jeff biggrin.gif ...I did some Ophelia myself (& Lady Macbeth).

I adore Hamlet (particularly Kenneth Branagh's Hamlet) and Toby Stephens is great... I wonder if I could get to the UK before Oct 2nd... probably not frown.gif ...if anyone goes to see this please give up a full report smile.gif

Never seen the point of studying Shakespeare at school, myself. Glad they dropped it from our Year 11 criteria for a certain British secret agent.

Just Shoot Me!... I remember that eppisode biggrin.gif ...I went to a taping of that show once actually.

Anywho, I’m not really into Shakespeare, but as I said, I do adore Hamlet. Macbeth is alright... Romeo and Juliet make me sick.

Lucky you! biggrin.gif

I used to watch the show regularly, but it hasn't been on here for a couple of years. Except recently, they've shown the first six seasons during the day, which I usually catch if I'm at home. I'd forgotten how well written it is. Still one season left unaired.

I'm a very fussy TV viewer. More so concerning the stale sitcom genre.

You studied Bond in eleventh grade? What do I need to enroll there!?

Macbeth is ... alright ? stare.gif mad.gif frown.gif wink.gif Good grief.

The comparative magnificence of (cough) this televisual wonder that is Don't Shoot Me is as yet unknown to me. I do apologise and grieve for my loss.

LOL smile.gif as in I'd choose Hamlet over Macbeth. I do enjoy a lot about Macbeth though, don't get me wrong. I think it is Romeo and Juliet that does leave a bad taste in my mouth when it comes to Shakespeare (I dislike the play, the movies, West Side Story, Underworld, any movie that based on it).

You're not missing much wink.gif ...especially since it's geared more towards American Humor than English humor, you much just find it annoying (unless of course you like David Spade). smile.gif

I think Toby Stephens will be perfect in the role.

I love reading Shakespeare! What's wrong with Romeo and Juliet? Well, the other play I reccomend is Titus Andronicus.

Agreed! I so wish I was in the UK right now for this.

I don't know, I guess Romeo + Juliet just isn't my style. Hum... ok ok, I lied, maybe I do like Shakespeare minus R+J (which sticks in my mind, irritates me and makes me think I don't like Shakespeare)... Titus Andronicus IS a great one too. Have you seen the movie with Anthony Hopkins? Wonderful!

I'm pretty much the same way with R+J, Athena. It just never did it for me. MacBeth reminds me of a funny event from high school. In my senior year, the teacher had to deal with me and two of my best pals. Together we were the ultimate in class clowns, smart alecks of the highest order. As it happened, the Shakespeare play we read for that year was MacBeth and being drama students (exceptionally hammy ones at that) as well, we proceeded to deliver our parts, when the time came in ludicrously thick Scottish burrs. Did the same thing for Beowulf too. Needless to say the teacher retired shortly after we gradfuated. biggrin.gif

Thank you, the brief glimpse you've afforded me today will only encourage me to redouble my efforts.
