To quote the great Just Shoot Me!...
NINA: "I've hated Shakespeare ever since high school." FINCH: "Why? Did he write something nasty in your yearbook?" Never seen the point of studying Shakespeare at school, myself. Glad they dropped it from our Year 11 criteria for a certain British secret agent. ![]() |

Just Shoot Me!... I remember that eppisode
Anywho, I’m not really into Shakespeare, but as I said, I do adore Hamlet. Macbeth is alright... Romeo and Juliet make me sick. ![]() |

Lucky you! I used to watch the show regularly, but it hasn't been on here for a couple of years. Except recently, they've shown the first six seasons during the day, which I usually catch if I'm at home. I'd forgotten how well written it is. Still one season left unaired. I'm a very fussy TV viewer. More so concerning the stale sitcom genre. ![]() |

O what a noble mind is here o'erthrown. Act III scene i
These words, like daggers, enter in mine ears. Act III scene iv Macbeth is ... alright ? The comparative magnificence of (cough) this televisual wonder that is Don't Shoot Me is as yet unknown to me. I do apologise and grieve for my loss. ![]() ![]() "There was a violent cruelty, a pathological desire to wound, quite near the surface in the man." I think Toby Stephens will be perfect in the role. I love reading Shakespeare! What's wrong with Romeo and Juliet? Well, the other play I reccomend is Titus Andronicus. ![]() |

Agreed! I so wish I was in the UK right now for this.
I don't know, I guess Romeo + Juliet just isn't my style. Hum... ok ok, I lied, maybe I do like Shakespeare minus R+J (which sticks in my mind, irritates me and makes me think I don't like Shakespeare)... Titus Andronicus IS a great one too. Have you seen the movie with Anthony Hopkins? Wonderful! ![]() |

I'm pretty much the same way with R+J, Athena. It just never did it for me. MacBeth reminds me of a funny event from high school. In my senior year, the teacher had to deal with me and two of my best pals. Together we were the ultimate in class clowns, smart alecks of the highest order. As it happened, the Shakespeare play we read for that year was MacBeth and being drama students (exceptionally hammy ones at that) as well, we proceeded to deliver our parts, when the time came in ludicrously thick Scottish burrs. Did the same thing for Beowulf too. Needless to say the teacher retired shortly after we gradfuated.
