The Light's on at Signpost, the memoir of George MacDonald Fraser, could not in all conscience be labelled dull; "challenging" is perhaps its most realistic description...

To read the whole report by Jacques Stewart visit CBn's main page story: "You want to put Bond in a gorilla suit?"

I've always loved what George McDonald Fraser did with working on the screenstory for Octopussy.

Read this article earlier today, and was thoroughly interested. Fine job, Jim.

Nice to see this will be available in some months from now for the US.

Wow, what a treat. A fantastic find and a great article, Jim.

Add GMF to the list of people who have testified to the outstanding character of Cubby.

And I love that final quoted paragraph. Says it all, doesn't it?

Just thought it was something a little different!

Much credit to Athena for making it look so smart. thumbup.gif

And yeah, that closing (quoted) paragraph... cool.gif

Great piece, Jim.

Out of curiousity, does MacDonald Fraser actually say "You want to put Bond in a gorilla suit?" in the book at all?

And yes, I must agree, that last quoted paragraph is a beaut. I can picture it perfectly.

No; sorry if not clear - it was Broccoli who said that to Fraser. One imagines also the look on his face!

Good read about one of those people who we really don't know much about and their experience with the series. I'd rather hear some of these stories rather than the usual suspects.

Wasn't GMF asked back to work on AVTAK as well or was that just a rumor?

Very cool.

When I read the title of the article, my initial thought was that it was about 003 and 004.

Never mind. wink.gif

Well as Roger Moore pointed out so cleverly...

All good 00-agents must know how to quickly get in and escaoe from a gorilla suit.

Came across this article recently while going through the Octopussy section. Bumping it up for newer members who may not be aware of it. smile.gif
