I just picked up at my local library a new book. It's author is Quinn Fawcett. the title is HONOR AMONG SPIES. It is a fictionalized account of Ian Fleming's 'Secret' adventures. I had no idea that Mr. Fawcett was writing this series(there are others). They should probably be added as a category in these forums.

You've got me interested now. Did a quick search and found that there are 3 books in his Ian Fleming series.... Death to Spies, Siren Song & the above mentioned Honor Among Spies..... Perhaps I'll purchase the first one and give a read....... thanx for the info.

I'd heard about the Death To Spies one (*cough*RIPOFF!*cough*) but I didn't realise they were about Fleming. Maybe they are worth a look after all.

Really, al? I had not heard of these before I don't believe. I'll certainly look for one of them, as I'm now not reading anything at the moment.

I remember when the first book, Death to Spies, came out, but this was during the days of the continuation novels so I didn't give it much thought and I never read. I had no idea it was a continuing series. Now that we have no more continuation novels, these are sounding better to me. I think I'm going to give them a read.

Thanks for bringing these to our attention, al. I just made this a main page story.

I've seen the covers and it's swayed it for me. I'm definitely getting these! Especially since the Bond continuation is uncertain at the moment.

The 1990 television film THE SECRET LIFE OF IAN FLEMING aka SPYMAKER, starring Jason Connery, comes to mind. It has been some time since I have seen the broadcast or watched my VHS tape of it but I do remember liking its spirit.

Ah yes, I still have to track that down. I wonder if these books bare any resemblence to 1989's (I believe) Goldeneye.

Looking for a novel featuring Ian Fleming as a supporting character? Look no further than "Any Human Heart" by William Boyd (which is a terrific read into the bargain).
